Senator Tokunbo Abiru Distributes Federal Government’s Fertilizers to Boost Food Security in Lagos East

Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, has distributed fertilizers to over 1,200 local farmers in Lagos East Senatorial District through the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The initiative aims to enhance food production and alleviate food insecurity in Nigeria.

Representing Senator Abiru at the distribution in Ikorodu, was former Honourable Member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola, praised the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda on food security.

She highlighted efforts to mitigate food price inflation and bolster national food production capabilities.

Acknowledging President Tinubu’s commitment to reducing hunger nationwide, Senator Abiru emphasized the supplementary support provided to farmers in his district. This includes distributing farm inputs like fertilizers, seedlings, and herbicides to over 300 crop farmers, and supplying fully vaccinated chickens, feeds, and cages to over 100 livestock farmers.

 

Dr. Hakeem Adetugbobo, coordinating agric-related empowerment for Senator Abiru, commended President Tinubu for steadfast support to Nigerian farmers, expressing optimism about resolving food insecurity through ongoing sector interventions.

Beneficiary Waheed Olaide Kareem from Lekki LCDA expressed gratitude for the food security program and praised Senator Abiru’s leadership.

Mrs. Folake Olaide of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Eredo LCDA, affirmed that members benefiting from Senator Abiru’s support are thriving in their farming endeavors.

Prominent figures at the event included Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Kazeem Sulaimon, South West Chairman of AFAN, Otunba (Dr.) Femi Oke, among others.
