In continuation of his efforts at sustaining the political party structure, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on industries, Sen. Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, has disbursed about N14 million to 98 All Progressives Congress Wards and 16 LGAs/LCDAs under his district for February for sensitisation.
This disclosure was made known to BlackBox Nigeria by Alhaji Rahman Tahir, Chairman, Conference of Lagos East Senatorial Ward Chairmen while thanking the Senator for remembering party faithful at the grassroots.
“Thank you (Senator Tokunbo Abiru) for reaching out to us in the Grassroot. The effort of sustaining the party at the ward level is felt by the Doing Good Senator.
“This month we have received a Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) each in all the 98 wards in Lagos East Senatorial District to sensitise all our party faithful across the Ward Level which includes Youth and Women,” he wrote.
Tahir stated further that the Doing Good Senator is also supporting all the 16 LGAs and LCDAs with the sum of N250,000 to keep the party running. The Chairman Conference of Lagos East senatorial Ward Chairmen called on Party Leaders to acknowledge and appreciate Senator Abiru for his efforts at keeping the party running.
“He (Senator Tokunbo Abiru) is concurrently supporting all the 16 LGA and LCDA with the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand naira(N250,000) to keep the party running.
“We call on all the Party Leaders of our great party to acknowledge and appreciate Distinguished Senator Tokunbo Abiru, we assure you of Victory in Lagos East.”
It will be recalled that in January 2023, the Senator who has anchored his legislative assignment on three major pillars of legislative role, empowerment and endowment, disbursed the same amount to support the APC party structure.
Senator Tokunbo Abiru was elected on December 15, 2020, following a bye-election in Lagos East Senatorial District and he is campaigning for reelection to the same seat come February 25, 2023.
