Senator Tokunbo Abiru, the representative of Lagos East Senatorial District, attended the 2024 Ipakodo Day alongside notable figures from Ikorodu and beyond.
During the event, Senator Abiru announced upcoming infrastructure projects for Ipakodo and surrounding areas, including road construction on Apena Jimbo Street, Ojediran Street, and Ibuowo Street. Additionally, he highlighted plans for rehabilitating and building new classroom blocks at Ipakodo Primary School and Ipakodo Grammar School.
He also emphasized the transformative impact of the SAIL Innovation Lab, established through the SAIL Empowerment Foundation, an initiative championed by Senator Abiru and his wife, Mrs. Feyisola Abiru. Located in Ipakodo, the Innovation Lab has gained global recognition for its role in training young people and providing employment opportunities, thereby enhancing socio-economic development in Ipakodo and Ikorodu at large.
In his address, Senator Abiru expressed confidence in the lab’s ongoing contributions to youth empowerment and community enhancement, underscoring its role in positioning Ipakodo on the international stage.
The event was graced by distinguished royal fathers including HRM Oba Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, The Ayangbure of Ikorodu; HRM Oba (Engr.) Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, The Sekumade of Ipakodo Kingdom; HRM Oba (Barrister) Semiudeen Kasali, The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom; HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji, The Eweye of Isiu; alongside other esteemed dignitaries such as Aremo Ogunsanya, Sir Raheed Omokayode Shoderu, Emeritus Prof. Kunle Ade Wahaab, Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN, and Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle.
