The Customs Area Controller, CAC, Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Mohammed Uba, has unveiled massive seizures of prohibited items worth over N40million within the last two weeks.
He disclosed this through the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Saidu Nuruddeen.
The Command swiftly arrested suspects in connection with the seizures.
He revealed that the seizures include foreign currencies, parcels of hard drugs, over 875 bags of rice, bags of sugar and other items.
Within the same two weeks, the Command also Intercepted 7 sacks of cucumber/pineapples, 16 baskets of fresh okro and other perishable items, which were auctioned at the sum of N367,471.
The perishable items came from Benin Republic.
