A Brazilian man, Andrelino Vieira Da Silva, who identifies himself as the oldest man on earth, has celebrated his 121st birthday amidst his recovery from the novel coronavirus.

Da Silva, who is a resident of Aparecida de Goiania in the Brazilian state of Goias, clocked 121 on February 3.

The father of 7 marked the occasion with his family, who live with him, as they all recovered from Covid-19.

According to DailyMail, Da Silva was born on February 3, 1901 as stated in his I.D card. He has 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. If his age is eventually verified, he would be confirmed the oldest living person.

He is reportedly married and had 7 children, out of which remain 5.

To mark his special day, Da Silva celebrated with a cake decorated with his first name, his age, and the phrase ‘O terror do INSS’ meaning ‘the terror of the INSS’.

The INSS acronym is Brazil’s National Institute of Social Security, in charge of pension payments and survivor benefits.

Meanwhile, in January 2021, the Guinness World Record announced the death of the oldest living male in the world, a Spaniard, Saturnino de la Fuente García. According to its website, Garcia passed away at 112years and 341 days.
