A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Segun Dada has mocked the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu following the announcement of Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the consensus presidential candidate.
BlackBox Nigeria had reported that Adamu announced Lawan during a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) on Monday in Abuja.
The announcement, which contradicts the position of APC Northern governors who backed power shift to the South, has since generated mixed reactions in the party and beyond. Some NWC members also reportedly kicked against the move.
Reacting to the development, Dada, the ousted aspirant for the APC National Youth Leader, said the party’s National Chairman picked Lawan and claimed the latter was the choice of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The APC chieftain, who is a known supporter of a former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, insisted the presidential primary must hold as scheduled.
“Adamu picked Lawan as consensus and claimed he is the president choice? Lmaoooo. Gbogbo yin e ma bo ni eagles square,” he tweeted on Thursday evening.
