1.Kenya – 3 hours, 43 minutes

Kenya tops the list with the highest average social media use. WhatsApp and Tiktok were the most frequently used social media platforms in Kenya, according to a survey conducted as of January 2024. Around 70 to 90 percent of respondents mentioned each channel. Around 68.5 percent and 67.8 percent reported using Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, respectively.

According to Opinion Box, in 2022, 71% of Brazilians already used social media to buy their products and 75% of them look for new products and brands through these networks. The majority of searches and purchases are through Instagram (57%), Google Shopping (46%), Facebook and Whatsapp (both with 40%).

4. Philippines – 3 hours, 33 minutes

5. Nigeria – 3 hours, 23 minutes

Nigeria ranks fifth, with users spending 3 hours and 23 minutes on social media Nigerians often use these platforms for news, entertainment, and business, particularly in sectors like fashion, music, and film.

6. Colombia
Colombia ranked 6th spending with each individuals spending at least 3 hours, 22 minutes on social media.

7. Chile – 3 hours, 11 minutes
