A Second Republic lawmaker, Dr Junaid Mohammed is dead.
He reportedly died on Thursday Thursday night, February 18 at an isolation centre. The actual cause of his death was, however, not disclosed.
The son of the late politician, Suleiman said his father died at the age of 73 after a brief illness that lasted for three days.
The Kano State-born medical doctor was a founding member of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in 1976 led by the late Aminu Kano.
He was a member of the House of Representatives in the Second Republic.
In 2018, Donald Duke, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), picked him as his running mate for the 2019 election.
Mohammed, a trenchant critic of the Buhari government, would be remembered for his comments, sometimes controversial, on national issues.
