Saraki Kick Starts Made In Nigeria Challenge0

The Senate President, Dr Olubukola Abubakar Saraki moments ago declared open the challenge for all local manufacturers and producer of goods that can be easily substituted for imported goods.

The challenge tagged MadeInNigeria was launched to help boost local content and help grow small and medium enterprises.

This challenge is coming just as the Federal Government-led by President Muhammadu Buhari is trying to diversify the economy so as to relieve the dependency on imported goods and help give strength to the nation’s currency, Naira.

According to the Senate President, the products to be showcased in the challenge must have minimum of 70% locally sourced raw materials.

Participants are expected to shoot a video of not more than 3 minutes showcasing their products that is an alternative to imported goods.

The contestants are also expected to use the #MadeInNigeria as they submit their videos online.

The Senator Saraki also said the Senate will under its oversight function monitor the procurement by Government Ministries, Agencies and Department to make sure local manufacturers are well considered for purchase of goods and services.
