Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki on Monday appeared before the Senate Committee on Public Petitions, Ethics and Privileges to answer questions over alleged N370m bulletproof Range Rover impounded by the Nigeria Customs Service.
Saraki, who is representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District stated he was happy to present himself before the Committee and was proud to honour the Senate Rule Book which guides the conduct and activities of the Chamber.
When the Committee Chairman, Senator Samuel Anyanwu and other members asked about the imported bulletproof SUV, Senator Saraki denied the importation.
He said, “I did not import any vehicle. I do not ask anybody to import any vehicle on my behalf.”
He also added that there exist no document linking him with the luxury jeep impounded by the Customs.
