Sanwo-Olu’s aide Resigns, Declares House of Reps Ambition

Sola Giwa, the special adviser on Transportation to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has stepped down from his position on Tuesday.

In a statement announcing his resignation, Giwa described his time in office as a privilege, noting that he contributed to the transformation of the state’s transport sector under the THEMES+ Agenda. He also expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the confidence reposed in him during his tenure.

Giwa said his decision to leave the role followed “deep reflection and wide consultations,” adding that he is now seeking to represent Lagos Island Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives.

According to him, his ambition is driven by a desire to provide stronger representation, pursue purposeful legislation, and deliver tangible benefits to constituents.

He emphasised that his political journey is ongoing, expressing readiness to take on the new challenge in the National Assembly.
