By Congratulations are in order for Dr. Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye following his appointment as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUST) formerly known as Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, approved the appointment of Dr. Olaleye who was the Rector of the Polytechnic before the transmutation of the institution to a varsity on February 2.
This was contained in a statement by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUST), ‘Lanre Kuye.
Addressing members of staff at a town hall meeting held on Friday, at the School of Agriculture Auditorium, Ikorodu Campus, the Acting VC expressed his profound gratitude to the Governor for his large heart for the consideration of his appointment.
Dr. Olaleye also appreciated the Special Adviser on Education to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Tokunbo Philip Wahab and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa for their efforts geared towards the successful transmutation of the citadel of learning.
Meanwhile, the National Universities Commission (NUC) recently gave the Lagos State Government clearance certificates of operations for the two newly approved state-owned universities; Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Ijanikin and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUST), Ikorodu.
