Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the completion of the newly constructed Tolu Schools Complex as part of preparations for its official commissioning, describing the facility as a major milestone in the state’s education sector.
The complex, named Akintunde Owolabi Lateef Tolu complex is situated in Ajegunle community under Apapa local government area of lagos state, with 32 secondary schools and 4 primary schools.
The governor, during his visit, said the expansive complex brings together 36 schools spanning primary, junior, and senior secondary levels.
Situated on 11.7 hectares of land, the facility is designed to cater to more than 20,000 students, making it the largest school community in Africa.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the complex is equipped with modern learning infrastructure, including well-furnished classrooms, sports facilities such as football fields and basketball courts, and other amenities aimed at enhancing both academic and extracurricular development.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving access to quality education across Lagos, emphasizing that investments in education remain central to the state’s long-term development goals.
“Education remains central to our vision for Lagos and we will continue to ensure every child has access to a quality learning environment,” the governor said.
The governor also expressed appreciation to residents and students for their warm reception during the visit, noting that their support continues to motivate the government to deliver impactful projects across the state.
