Samklef Weighs In as Crayon Drags Don Jazzy, Mavin Records Online

Nigerian music producer Samklef has ignited fresh controversy in the music industry after reacting to recent accusations made by singer Crayon against his former label boss Don Jazzy and Mavin Records.

The drama began after Crayon took to social media with a series of posts criticising the label and its leadership.

In the posts, many of which were later deleted shows the singer accused Don Jazzy of owing him unpaid royalties and claimed that he had not received his rightful share from earnings generated from his music.

Crayon, who joined Mavin Records in 2019, also made shocking allegations linking the music executive to circumstances surrounding his mother’s death, sparking widespread reactions among fans and industry observers online.

Reacting to the controversy, Samklef suggested that things had changed around the label in recent times.

In a post shared online, the producer alleged that many artists under Don Jazzy had struggled to achieve major success lately, hinting that the situation may be connected to the music executive’s association with social media activist VeryDarkMan.

“I tell una say Jazzy go cast soon… Ever since Don Jazzy met a very dark man, all the signed artists no gree blow,” Samklef wrote.

He also added that Aura Starr recent music video shows the challenges artist faced under mavins record.

The remarks quickly fueled debate across social media platforms, with fans divided over the claims.

Founded in 2012 by Don Jazzy, Mavin Records is regarded as one of Africa’s most successful music labels and has produced global stars such as Rema, Ayra Starr, Johnny Drille and Ladipoe.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Don Jazzy nor the management of Mavin Records had issued an official response to the allegations circulating online.
