Some weeks ago, the Management of University of Lagos, Akoka rusticated some students on alleged offense committed in the school premises, which were highlighted to be against the school rules and regulations. In a twist, the concerned seven students have cried out to the injustice been melted out by the leadership of the school authority.
The affected students are seven out of the sixteen union members of the institution’s main campus in Akoka, Lagos. In the video below, the students confirmed that their only offense was the peaceful protest which they led in April and got on the wrong side of the school management, because it was felt the protest was not necessary.
The protest which the management described as a deliberate act by the students to truncate the school’s academic calendar was in demonstration against hike in prices of goods and activities, among other hardships facing the students in the federal tertiary institution in Lagos State.
Rather than the school attend to issues raised by the protesting students, it hand picked seven out of them and rusticated them, favoring the remaining nine who partook in the protest, by not serving them any penalty. See the video in parts below…
