The committee however, absolved two important members of the university’s current management – a deputy vice-chancellor, Ben Oghojafor, and the registrar, Oladejo Azeez, of any wrongdoing.

There are also speculations that coincidentally, Mr Azeez another indicted may be a member of the audit committee.

A source who pleaded anonymity revealed that today’s meeting is expected to be stormy as the series of indictment is likely to resurface.

The source also has it that some members of the council have also accused the registrar of doctoring the minute of the governing council meeting held in March.

“They claimed that some clauses which were never discussed have been inserted into the minute to justify the action of the council chair, especially on the queries issued to the indicted individuals.

“For instance, there was nowhere we discussed that the council chair should act on the report without first presenting the report to the council. That has been inserted, and members won’t take such a case of forgery lightly,” Our source revealed further.

Information reveals that the conspiracy theory making the rounds has it that Prof Ben Oghojafor, D.VC management who was the chairman of the sub-committee that reviewed the composition of the tenders board is also involved in the misconduct.

Prof Ben Oghojafor is also allege of doing the bidding of the council chair hence, he needed to be rewarded.

The drama deepens with the committee’s decision not to indict the third deputy vice-chancellor, Mr Oghojarfor, based on an allege ploy to make him the acting vice-chancellor when Ogundipe is suspended.

A major worry for those interested in the recent indictment spree rocking the institution is why Oghojafor is yet to be issued query as he has been granted permission to visit China and US recently.
