The Nigeria Police Force has issued a directive for the immediate withdrawal of all police officers attached to VIPs across the country, following a presidential order.

In an internal memo dated November 24, 2025, from SPU Base 16 in Lagos, officers were instructed to return to base without delay.

The notice, signed by ASP Neji Veronica on behalf of the Commanding Officer, was titled “Daily Order/Instruction” and emphasized strict compliance.

It reads in part: “Sequel to the directive of Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the withdrawal of Police personnel attached to VIPs, the Commanding Officer directs with immediate effect the withdrawal of all personnel of SPU Base 16 attached to VIPs/Beats across the federation back to base.”

Officers were warned to report back before the end of Monday, November 24, and attend a mandatory Lecture Parade the following day.

The memo noted that attendance would be taken from the nominal roll, implying disciplinary actions for defaulters.
