Residents Storm Streets Of Uyo To Protest N9.1bn Akwa Ibom Lodge In Lagos
Residents trooped in their numbers on Monday to the streets of Uyo to protest against the plan by Governor Emmanuel Udom to build a N9.1bn Akwa Ibom lodge in Lagos State. The protesters had in their midst, both old and young residents.
The protesters revealed that the present Chief Executive is ruling like a tyrant as he has failed to listen to the yearnings of the electorate.
An aggrieved protester disclosed that pensioners have not been paid for months but the Governor will rather plan a huge amount of money for a lodge that has no primary benefits for the State.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the protesters were protected in the course of their actions by officers of Akwa Ibom State Police Command including the operatives of the Department of State Service. It was disclosed that the development was as the result of the newly deployed Commissioner of Police.
On accusations of being sponsored by some individuals, one of the convener of the protest revealed that Mr Emmanuel Sam and Mr Inibehe Effiong just made contributions like every other protesters when the need to buy a megaphone and hands were joined together to make it happen.
