Honorable Babajimi Benson (Ikorodu, APC) yesterday, 1st of September, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof Lanre Fagbohun, Deputy VC (Academic), Prof. AOK Noah, the Registrar – Mr. Lewis Akinwunmi Oladapo, Liberian Dr. Adebambo Oduwole and other Professors, at the Lagos State University premises.
The Lagos representative who is passionate about the development of Nigerian youth discussed about bringing up the #StartUpIkorodu initiatives to the institution.
#StartUpIkorodu, a program he started in his own constituency aimed at building an entrepreneurial eco-system for Ikorodu residents.
He highlighted how the academic community plays a pivotal role in setting up of a viable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Other issues bothering on how to create synergy between the populace and the university community in the light of Lagos State Government’s megacity projections were also discussed during the meeting.
The visit also created an avenue to create a relationship between iCare Foundation (his pet foundation) and the University in order to benefit the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Benson stated on his Facebook page.
Also in attendance at the meeting were, Academia of Ikorodu Division extraction who have been projecting the name of Ikorodu in positive light within the citadel of learning; Prof. Akinyemi K. O, Prof. Wahab Elias, Dr. Okedeyi Olumuyiwa, Dr. Funsho Omobitan, Prince Jimi Adejo, Dr. Surajudeen Mudasiru, Dr. Abiodun Fatai, Mrs Akintewe Blessing amongst other.
