In his effort to transform the landscape of Ikorodu, Rep. Babajimi Benson, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, embarked on a thorough inspection tour, accompanied by APC party State Chairman Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi and other dignitaries, to oversee the ongoing construction projects in the Ikorodu region.
One of the main highlights of the tour was the inspection of the 13km Oreta-Offin road in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, a strategic lane that promises to strengthen developmental and economic prospects upon completion. Receiving the delegation was the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Sesan Daini, who provided detailed updates on the construction progress.
The Oreta-Offin road, expected to be completed within a year, commenced construction three months ago. During the inspection, Rep. Benson urged contractors to hasten the process while minimizing disruptions. He also emphasized the need for local job creation.
Simultaneously, Rep. Benson commissioned the Ori-Okuta road in Ikorodu West LCDA. This road, linking over 30 communities, plays a vital role in facilitating commuter traffic and enhancing economic activities. It marks the completion of the 57th road project facilitated by Rep. Benson Adegoke Babajimi, MHR, the lawmaker representing Ikorodu federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Defence.
Amid the ceremony, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, a Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu constituency 1, expressed profound appreciation to Rep. Babajimi Benson for the completion of the Ori-Okuta road and other pivotal road projects in Ikorodu federal constituency. Chief Murisiku Baale of Ori-Okuta reflected the sentiments of gratitude, affirming the transformative impact of the newly constructed roads on the community.
Furthermore, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, commended Rep. Benson for his transformative efforts during the commissioning of the Ori-Okuta road construction. Dr. Agbaje detailed Rep. Benson’s dedication to improving road infrastructure, aligning his efforts with the Lagos State government’s agenda to elevate rural areas to semi-urban standards.
The Special Adviser explains, “With about 57 successful road construction under his belt, Rep. Benson’s numerous infrastructural initiative aims to boost economic activities, enhance connectivity, and improve the quality of life for residents in these areas”.
Rep. Benson’s work in the Ikorodu division has garnered widespread recognition, with the Ori-Okuta road construction being one of the many projects that reflect his commitment to infrastructure development.

Both events saw attendance from various dignitaries, including council chairmen like Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA. Party officials, such as Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, Chairman of Ikorodu West, were also present, along with community leaders and representatives.
