After prolonged delays, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Igbe Road project in Ikorodu Constituency II is finally set to resume, following the release of full project funds by the Lagos State Government.
Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, confirmed the development in an official statement on Friday.
He disclosed that the complete funding, including the much-awaited bridge component, has been disbursed to the contractor, ITech.
“This is a big win for our constituency and a clear demonstration of the Lagos State Government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises,” Hon. Abiodun said.
“Today, I had a very productive meeting with the Accountant General of Lagos State, and I am pleased to inform you that the full funds required to complete the project have been officially released to the contractor.”
He further revealed that following his meeting, he contacted ITech officials who confirmed receipt of the funds and assured that work will resume on-site on Monday.
The contractor also committed to completing the entire project within six months.
Hon. Abiodun, who has been a vocal advocate for the project’s completion, expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his steadfast support and commitment to infrastructure development.
Despite facing years of delays, the lawmaker said he remained “consistent and relentless” in his efforts to see the project through.
The update has been communicated to political stakeholders in Igbogbo Kingdom, and Hon. Abiodun has also personally informed the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kamarudeen Kasali Orimadegun.
The road, once completed, is expected to significantly ease movement, boost local commerce, and improve the quality of life for residents across Ikorodu Constituency II.
