By Many people appear not to understand who Anthony Joshua is at the moment.
He is the biggest name globally as far as boxing is concerned. As Heavyweight Champ, he is what Muhammed Ali was half a century ago. As in the same title Mike Tyson bit Holifield for. A boxing category not even Floyd Mayweather can compete in. The HEAVYWEIGHT Champion of the world.
And he did it in grand style by knocking out the aggressive Wladimir Klitscko whom the only thing I chose to remember him for was humiliating our Samuel Peter in 2010 even “in the very before” of some Nigerian government officials… The VIPs (Fela’s VIP).
Well, rejoice not Nigeria, this victory is not yours.
Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua is a British boxer and that is how it is going to be. 
For those who dont know, as a 19-year-old, he begged Nigeria for a chance to represent us at the Beijing Olympics. We said NO. We said he was feeling too big because he was born abroad, we said he was proud because an unfortunate hitch made him come late for trials…. We dumped him.
FOUR years later he won Olympic GOLD for Britain. (Nigeria last won an Olympic Gold 21 years ago. The only Olympic we have ever won gold though. Ok we have been awarded Gold for 2008’s 4*400 relay after an American confessed to using drugs).
FIVE years after his Olympic Gold succes, he is the biggest name in Boxing.
This is not a victory for Nigeria!
