Refund Process to Begin in January, Chairmanship Aspirants Confirm

The leadership of Lagos State Chairmanship Aspirant Conference (LACOCA2025) under All Progressive Congress (APC) has announced that the refund process earlier promised to stakeholders will now commence in January, following a slight adjustment to the initial timeline.

BlackBox Nigeria reported earlier on the plans by the state chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) on the plans to refund the aspirant nomination fee after which they couldn’t secure spot in the last local government election primaries.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary General, Hon. Prince Wale Oluwa, the organisation said the decision was in line with resolutions reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the State Secretariat, where the plan was first announced by the State Chairman and reaffirmed by the State Governor.

According to the statement, while members had anticipated that the refund process would begin earlier, unforeseen circumstances made it necessary to reschedule the commencement date. The leadership assured stakeholders that efforts were made at all levels to ensure an earlier rollout of the payments.

“We understand that all of us are eagerly anticipating this payment and may have expected it to begin earlier. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the commencement of the refund process has been rescheduled to January,” the statement read.

Hon. Oluwa noted that the Central Working Committee (CWC) remains committed to its responsibility of providing accurate and timely information to members and stakeholders.

He also appealed for patience and understanding, assuring members that the update represents the official position of the organisation as preparations continue for the refund process to begin in January.
