Final year students of Lagos State Polytechnic on Friday trooped into the 500-seater auditorium of the Polytechnic en-masse for the sensitization programme of Ready Set Work 4.0.
The R.S.W operation first kick started in the year 2017 with a total of 5,000 registered students from 5 tertiary institutions in Lagos State; UNILAG, LASPOTECH, LASU, AOCOED, and CALEB university.
Ready Set Work, an initiative of the Lagos State Government is an employability and entrepreneurship program aimed at preparing final year students for immediate entry into the workforce as employees and employers of labour.
Blackbox Nigeria gathered that the second edition of Ready Set Work saw students of LASPOTECH beat The Lagos State University contestants and other institutions to the third position as they won the Governor’s price of N5,000,000.
The Program coordinator, Mrs. Sade Osun, and representative of The Special Adviser on Education buttressed that the program this year will entertain 5,000 participants, with 3,000 from LASU and 2,000 from LASPOTECH, including Caleb university students.
She added that Participants are to go through 12 weekends of intense training, timed at 9am-5pm necessary to orientate and re-orientate their mind set.
“This year’s Ready Set Work will promote greater interaction, forester team play, build capabilities to work with others”, Mrs. Sade said.
Speaking further, Mrs. Sade stated that the Lagos State Government will make provision for feeding twice for every scheduled class.
While answering questions as regards the registration process, Mrs. Sade stated that the registration process will be open from November 8, 2019 till November 15, 2019 as the main lecture is to commence November 23, 2019.
“log onto www.readysetwork.com.ng, then click on ‘student application portal’, next click on ‘student information’, and a form will pop up, this form has two sections, the first part requires you to register your basic details, while the second part will redirect you to a page were you will answer test questions.
“The test questions consist of 25 questions which must be completed within 24 hours. The questions will test your logical reasoning, inductive reasoning, analytics, and verbal reasoning”, Mrs. Sade explained.
The event was also attended by the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic , Mr. Olusola Olumide, members of the Ready Set Work team led by Mrs. Sade Osun, Deans and Directors of Schools, and Heads of Department.
