Reactions as Asake Unfollows Everyone on Instagram Amidst Record Label Exit Rumors

Grammy Award nominee Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has sparked widespread reactions after unfollowing everyone on Instagram, including his record label boss, Olamide.

The singer, who signed with YBNL Nation owned by Olamide, and distributed by Empire Music in 2022, has also deleted all his posts on the platform, leaving only the poster of his album, Lunguboy.

Additionally, he removed all references to YBNL Nation and Empire Music from his Instagram bio.

According to Instagram blogger Cuttie Julls, “Insiders say Asake’s contract with Olamide’s YBNL expired. When Olamide presented a new contract, Asake reportedly refused to sign. Olamide apparently tried everything possible to renew the deal, but Asake declined. The final straw came two weeks ago when Asake walked away, opting to become his own boss. Hopefully, they will resolve things, but as it stands, Olamide is now scouting for new artists.”

This development has stirred mixed reactions online, with many speculating that Asake may be rebranding or taking steps to bring fresh ideas to his career.

Popular influencer Oyemyke shared his opinion in a video, stating, “Asake relies on Olamide, and YBNL depends on Asake. It would be great if Olamide could ease up on his contract a little.”

Another user, SimoncoleB, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Olamide is low-key. I don’t think he cares what Asake decides to do. He’ll wish him well and move on, but first, he’ll honor the contract.”

ZeeDiorx5 added: “Lol, y’all need to leave Asake alone. He’s probably just rebranding.”

Another commenter expressed: “Asake dey carry the label, maybe baba wan use his head. Asake no gree ooh! No be everybody go dey do slave deal.”

Asake’s rise to stardom began when he joined YBNL Nation in 2022. He released a series of hit songs, including “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide and “Sungba,” which earned him widespread acclaim. Following his signing with YBNL Nation in February 2022, he released his debut studio album titled “Mr. Money with the Vibe” on September 7, 2022, through Empire Distribution.

While neither Asake nor Olamide has issued an official statement, fans are closely watching to see how the situation unfolds.
