By Nigerian musician Damini “Burna Boy” Ogulu has sparked controversy after a shocking incident at the Greater Lagos 2024 concert on New Year’s Eve.
The Afrobeat star was seen kicking a fan who had jumped on stage, apparently to get closer to him.
In the now-viral video, the fan approached Burna Boy, seemingly to hug the artist. However, Burna Boy responded by delivering a kick that sent the fan to the ground.
The incident led Burna Boy to leave the stage, ending his performance for the night.
The video has since ignited widespread criticism online, with fans and social media users reacting to the artist’s actions
“If na woman jump on stage he go wan rock am. Na man dey do man,” a user commented on X.
“If this happened in UK now, e go hug am,” wrote KINGEARL77 on X.
elmannygram shared, “Omo, some fans do too much. Shey na music una go enjoy abi to go fly for person body?”
iam_arinzona added, “This is not anger issues; this is him telling you, ‘I don’t rate your papa.’ He will not do the same outside Nigeria. If it happens outside Nigeria, he might even take pictures with the guy.”
This is not the first time Burna Boy has been involved in such incidents.
In 2023, a similar occurrence took place during his Lagos concert, where he kicked another fan who attempted to climb on stage.
Despite the controversy, the 31st Lagos Greater Concert featured performances from other Nigerian artists like Olamide, Wizkid, and 9ice, among others.
