Several human resource professionals, including Rasheed Aregbesola and Owolabi Ibrahim, have gained full membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria following the institute’s recent membership elevation exercise.
Rasheed Aregbesola is a former chairman of the CIPM Ikorodu branch. He studied Industrial Relations and Personnel Management at Lagos State University, where he served as president of his department during his time as a student. He currently works with the Nigeria Revenue Service. He has also served as administrative head at iCare Foundation and remains active in HR practice and professional development circles.
Owolabi Ibrahim previously worked as editor at BlackBox Nigeria during his time at Lagos State University. He has built a career in administrative and development work and has served as executive director of Involve Africa, an organisation focused on the Sustainable Development Goals.
CIPM is the statutory regulatory body for human resource management practice in Nigeria. The institute is empowered by law to set professional standards and certify qualified HR practitioners across the public and private sectors.
At the elevation ceremony, eighty five HR professionals moved from associate to full membership status. This grade is reserved for practitioners who demonstrate strong professional competence, relevant experience, and compliance with CIPM ethical standards.
In a message shared on its social media platforms, the institute congratulated the newly elevated members and invited the public to extend goodwill messages. Rasheed Aregbesola and Owolabi Ibrahim were listed among the successful candidates.
Full membership status, known as MCIPM, represents one of the highest professional grades within the institute. Members are expected to uphold strict standards, support the growth of the HR profession, and contribute to improved workplace systems and organisational performance across sectors.
The elevation exercise forms part of CIPM’s broader effort to strengthen professional standards in human resource management nationwide. The institute continues to state that HR practice without proper certification is not permitted under existing regulations.
With their elevation, Aregbesola, Ibrahim, and other new full members join a growing network of recognised HR professionals contributing to people management and organisational development across Nigeria.
