In his latest single “Emilokan,” rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has aimed at Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, accusing him of hypocrisy and selective activism in Nigerian politics.

Abdulkareem, known for his provocative lyrics, criticized Pastor Adeboye for allegedly staying silent on critical issues affecting Nigerians under the administration of President Tinubu, after being vocal and leading protests against former President Goodluck Jonathan’s regime.

“In a verse of his song, Abdulkareem pointedly criticized Pastor Adeboye, alleging that the clergyman had condemned bad governance during Jonathan’s presidency but now attributes Nigeria’s challenges to spiritual problems under Tinubu,” the song’s lyrics read.

The musician called on Pastor Adeboye to mobilize his followers once again, urging him to organize a one-million-man protest against the current government, similar to his actions in the past.

Abdulkareem emphasized the need for religious leaders to speak truth to power, especially in times of widespread hardship and economic difficulties.

Several netizens have expressed their views on social media regarding Eedris Abdulkareem’s criticism of Pastor Adeboye.

@folayomi2020 remarked, “I respect Daddy so much but the truth is, as humans, we can’t and shouldn’t be one-sided with our criticisms. We all witnessed when Daddy led protests against the Jonathan government. Now that things are worse than they were back then, why is Daddy not speaking up?”

@emmy4life02 added, “Nice one Eedris Abdulkareem. Adeboye is just an APC apologist.”

@VC _Ekezie commented, “Every elder will account. Unless your hands are clean from the stranglehold over Nigeria.”
