Ramadan: Osinowo Greets Muslims, Urges Prayers For Nigeria To Overcome Coronavirus
The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the Nigeria’s Upper Legislative Chamber, Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, has sent warm greetings to Muslims over the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.
Senator Osinowo who spoke through a press statement from his Media Office, also urged Muslims to seize the spiritual advantage of the Ramadan period to pray for the country to overcome the scourge of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“The Ramadan is a period of spiritual reawakening. A period of spiritual rebirth. I congratulate all Muslims for witnessing yet another Ramadan.
“However, while we revel in the euphoria of the commencement of another Ramadan, I want to urge us to seize the opportunity of this spiritual rebirth to pray for the country and the world at large to overcome the Coronavirus pandemic. While the government at all levels are doing everything at their disposal to contain and curtail the spread of the virus, the Ramadan period has provided us with the opportunity to increase supplication to Almighty Allah to assist us in this fight,” he said.
Senator Osinowo also urged Nigerians not to relent in keeping and staying safe all the time.
“We should not relent in washing and sanitising our hands regularly, we should continue to maintain the social distance, avoid gatherings of many people as well as maintaining all other health measures put in place by health officials to combat the scourge.
“Once again I congratulate you on witnessing the commencement of another Ramadan. Almighty Allah will accept all our supplications, worships and prayers during this period and beyond,” the Chairman of the Senate Committee of Industries said.
