By Prospective suitor kills opponent during traditional game to determine a lady’s groom in Katsina
A suitor has lost his life in Katsina while trying to win a lady’s hand in marriage. Yari Inusa met his untimely death while participating in Sharo, a Fulani traditional game which involves two men flogging themselves to determine the stronger person who deserves the bride.
The late Yari was competing against Ahmed Saidu who has now been arrested by the Police. According to sources, Saidu played dirty when he hit the deceased in the head instead of just his back.
Yari was the first person to flog the accused which he did without any incidence but when it was Saidu’s turn, he allegedly hit his opponent in the head.
Yari Inusa according to information obtained by BlackBox Nigeria sustained injuries in the head which eventually led to his death.
The incident happened in Durmin Biri village, in the Kafur LGA.
