Prince Rakeem Mkambala, the newborn son of Nigerian actress Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, has become an online sensation after gaining over 100,000 Instagram followers 24hours after his birth.
The baby’s grandmother, Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, announced the news on her Instagram page, sharing a heartwarming hospital photo of the mother and child, both in good health.
In the post, Iyabo also revealed the Instagram handle created for her grandson.
Within 30 minutes, the account had already gathered 36,000 followers, and minutes later, the figure surpassed 55,000.
The rapid rise sparked mixed reactions on social media.
While many fans celebrated the overwhelming love and support for the Ojo family, others criticised Nigerians for what they described as misplaced priorities.
One X user, @your\_Favxparte, wrote: “36,400 mumu and jobless people. Na Tinubu and the likes really fit them.”
Another, @workof\_Godd, added: “Nigerian people too mumu 😂.”
Baby Rakeem’s social media milestone has made him one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing celebrity Instagram accounts, continuing a trend of instant online fame for celebrity children.
