The Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS), on Tuesday led a sweeping enforcement operation to clear illegal structures, dismantle roadside shanties, and stop indiscriminate parking choking pedestrian walkways in Festac Town.

The early morning operation, backed by LASTMA, KAI Brigade, the Nigeria Police, and Lagos State Environmental Taskforce, targeted key routes including 2nd Avenue, 1st Avenue, 22 Road, and 41 Road.

Shanties were demolished, while several vehicles blocking walkways and road corridors were towed away in line with environmental and traffic laws.

Sanusi vowed that the crackdown would continue until Festac is fully restored to its urban masterplan.

“This is not a one-off action. We will sustain this until there’s total compliance,” he said.

The council urged residents, traders, and motorists to desist from activities that block movement, distort town planning, or deface the environment.
