A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an interim forfeiture order against Proxy Lagos Night Club, owned by socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu also known as “Pretty Mike” after allegations that the venue was being used for drug storage and distribution.
Justice Musa Kakaki granted the ex‑parte motion filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday, ordering the venue at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, be handed over to the federal government pending the outcome of investigations.
According to court documents, NDLEA agents raided the premises on October 26 2025 following credible intelligence that the club was preparing a large‑scale “drug party.”
The raid reportedly unearthed 169 cylinders (384.662 kg) of nitrous oxide and approximately 200 g of cannabis sativa. More than 200 individuals, including the club’s owner and a staff member, were reportedly arrested.
NDLEA argued that the property was being used as an instrumentality of drug crime, as authorised under the NDLEA Act and the Constitution. The agency cited specific legislation that allows for forfeiture of properties tied to illicit drugs.
The judge ruled that all activities at the club be suspended and listed the matter for further hearing on January 28 2026, during which the forfeiture will be reviewed.
For Pretty Mike, a prominent figure in Lagos’s nightlife scene, the ruling represents a serious blow to his business operations.
While no final determination has yet been made, the interim order signals the court’s willingness to temporarily seize assets where there is credible evidence of criminal use.
Critics and social‑media users have debated whether the action is focused solely on this one venue or part of a broader crackdown on Lagos nightlife.
Meanwhile, legal observers note the club owner retains the right to appear in court and contest the forfeiture before it becomes final.
