President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been conferred with the prestigious traditional title of “Dike Si-mba of Anambra,” meaning “The Mighty Warrior,” during his one-day working visit to Anambra State.
The conferment was announced by Fredrick Nwabufo, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Engagement, through a post on X.
“President Bola Tinubu has just been conferred with the chieftaincy title of Dike Si-mba of Anambra – the Mighty warrior,” Nwabufo wrote.
The title, bestowed by traditional leaders in recognition of Tinubu’s leadership and contributions to national development, coincided with the President’s visit to commission several landmark projects in the state.
During the visit, Tinubu officially inaugurated Anambra’s first-ever Government House, a historic development in the administrative structure of the state.
He also commissioned key infrastructure including the Solution FunCity, Anambra Country Club, New Government Lodge, New Presidential Lodge, and the Emeka Anyaoku Centre at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka.
A major highlight of the day was the unveiling of the Iconic Light of the Nation Tower, a monumental structure located within the new state Government House complex.
The tower, designed to reflect Anambra’s slogan as “The Light of the Nation,” was constructed by Dutum Construction Limited, led by Managing Director Temitope Runsewe.
The President’s visit underscores the growing collaboration between the federal government and subnational units, and his honorary title adds cultural significance to his engagement with the southeastern region.
