President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep condolences to the families of victims who lost their lives in Tuesday’s fire outbreak at Afriland Towers on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended sympathy to the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Capital, and the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, all of whom were affected by the incident.
President Tinubu also commiserated with those who sustained injuries in the inferno and are currently receiving treatment.
The President commended the quick intervention of emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service, first aiders, medical teams, and members of the public, for their role in managing the situation and ensuring the evacuation of occupants.
He further called for greater caution, regular training, and heightened alertness to help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
“President Tinubu prays that God Almighty will grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and speedy recovery to the injured,” the statement added.
