PRESIDENT BUHARI REMOVES CBN GOVERNOR, GODWIN EMEFIELE
News reaching BlackBox Nigeria has it that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has been relieved of his job by the Federal Government.
It was gathered that the CBN Governor was asked via an official memo to proceed on compulsory leave within the next two weeks. This order BlackBox Nigeria further learnt is coming three months to the end of his four year tenure as the head of the apex bank.

Godwin Emefiele became the CBN Governor in June 3, 2014. He was appointed by the Government f ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Before becoming the CBN boss, Emefiele served as the Chief Executive Officer and the Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank where he had earlier also been the Executive Director in charge of Corporate Banking, Treasury, Financial Control and Strategic Planning.

No reason has been revealed for Emefiele’s sack as he is expected to be replaced by a successor to be announced in the coming weeks. According to reports gathered by BlackBox Nigeria, the outgoing CBN boss has about two weeks to clear his desk.
