Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly turned down a rematch with fellow artist Speed Darlington known as Akpi, following their recent celebrity boxing match in which Portable claimed victory.

The rejection, which surfaced in a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), comes after Portable confirmed receiving a ₦20 million cash gift from Grammy winner Burna Boy.

According to the Zazuu crooner, the generous gesture from Burna Boy has made any further contest with Speed Darlington unnecessary.

“Joy don come, Burna Boy na Odogwu,” Portable said in the video.

“The money long, Burna Boy money long, them dey tell me before, now I know. Burna Boy don send ₦20 million. I no rematch o.”

Portable revealed that Speed Darlington had earlier offered him money to agree to a rematch, but said the proposal no longer held any appeal.

“The ₦20 million you wanted to use for the rematch, Burna Boy has sent it,” he declared.

“Send that ₦20 million again if you want. I need the money. I can’t rematch, but bring another person, not that fool. He’s a fool at 40.”

Portable’s statement has stirred conversations online, with fans reacting to his blunt dismissal of Speed Darlington and his unexpected praise for Burna Boy.

While organizers of the initial match have yet to comment on whether a new opponent will be arranged, Portable has made it clear that he’s ready for a new challenge, not just one that includes Speed Darlington.
