The Kano State Police Command has recovered a Toyota Hilux vehicle stolen from the convoy of Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo after a coordinated early‑morning operation.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Deputy Governor’s Press Secretary, Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu, the vehicle was taken from the Government House premises through Gate 4 at approximately 5 a.m. on Monday.

Security officials used CCTV footage from the Government House to trace the passage of the vehicle, confirming the suspect’s escape through the main gate.

The stolen vehicle was located shortly thereafter and the driver identified as a permanent staff member of the facility has been arrested and is assisting investigators.

The Deputy Governor’s office described the theft as “a clear breach of trust” and reassured the public that security and property protection remain state priorities.
