Police Force Dismisses Officers For Stealing And Selling Properties Of Ex President, Jonathan
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Thursday dismissed four Police officers attached to secure a property of former President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan after they were found guilty of stealing and selling of domestic appliances and clothes.
It was gathered that the officers who were appointed to safeguard the house located in Gwarimpa area of Abuja looted the property and selling them off at a nearby second-hand market.
Their dismissal was approved by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo and contained in a statement released by the Command’s spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah.
The errant officers include; Musa Musa, John Nanpak, Ogah Audu and Gabriel Ugah; all of them were Sergeants until they were dismissed from the Force.
A Police source revealed that investigation is going on to apprehend a trader simply identified as Mallam Shuiabu who bought the stolen items from the officers.
After their dismissal, their case has been forwarded to Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 7 for further actions.

“In fulfillment of the promise by the FCT Police Command to make public its findings on the investigation of the case of theft at the Gwarimpa residence of former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, the command wishes to state that in line with first schedule of Police Act and regulation 370 Cap 19, the policemen guarding the house have been tried in an orderly room proceeding and found culpable of the offence.
“Sequel to the outcome of the orderly room proceeding, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo has approved the immediate dismissal of the policemen from the Nigeria Police Force”
The command pointed out that it would prosecute the main culprit, Sgt Musa. This, it said was in compliance with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris “to rid the Nigeria Police Force of criminal elements that are out to disparage the good image of the Force.”
