Police Arrest Armed Robbers Who Invaded Catholic Church Retreat Ground

What started with praise and worship to the Lord at the St. Patrick Catholic Renewal Church, Jakande Opened Field, Ilemba in Ojo area of Lagos State has ended up with the arrest 19-year-old Wasiu Kamarudeen of No 8 Olaniyi street Iyalode Ilogbo.

On Saturday, August 31, 2019, around 6:30 am, the Ilemba Hausa Police Station received a distress call that one motorcycle was sighted conveying three passengers into the campground in a Suspicious manner.

It was gathered that the passengers of the motorcycle mingled amongst the worshipers who were attending a three days retreat with intent to dispossess worshippers of their valuables such as handsets, cash etc.

According to the Police, on the strength of the information, patrol teams were deployed to the scene leading to the arrest of one of the suspected thieves.

“The ring leader identified as Wasiu Kamarudeen ‘m’ 19 years old of No 8 Olaniyi street Iyalode Ilogbo was arrested and one locally made short Gun with one live cartridge was recovered from him.

” Their operational motorcycle with registration number OGUN AKM 749 WP was recovered. The Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) has launched a manhunt of the remaining two suspects. An investigation is ongoing and the case will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed, ” the Police states in a press statement signed by
