Pioneer FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alhaji Nurudeen Olorunnimbe Adedipe, Passes Away

The nation and academic community are mourning the passing of Professor Alhaji Nurudeen Olorunnimbe Adedipe, the first Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Renowned for his academic excellence and remarkable humility, Prof. Adedipe leaves behind a significant legacy in Nigerian higher education.

He will be laid to rest on Thursday at his residence, 13 ITASIN Zion Street, Ebute, Ipakodo, Ikorodu, with prayers beginning at 10 a.m.

Reflecting on his contributions, Professor Bayo Ninalowo, former Pro-Chancellor of Lagos State University and ex-President of Oriwu Club, described him as “an intellectual colossus” and “the epitome of nobility and dignified humility.” Prof. Ninalowo highlighted Adedipe’s exemplary leadership and scholarly impact, emphasizing that his work has left an enduring imprint beyond Nigeria’s borders. He noted that Adedipe’s humility and warm charisma were qualities that endeared him to everyone he met.

Family, friends, colleagues, and former students are united in remembrance of Prof. Adedipe’s profound contributions and life of service. They find solace in prayers that Allah grants him Aljanah Firdaus and that his family finds strength during this period of loss.
