There was palpable tension at Elepe Community Junior High School, located on Ijede road in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, on Sunday, after a solar powered panel installed in the public secondary school caught fire.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the inferno only affected the power station as residents of the area called for help to put off the fire.

Though the actual cause of the fire cannot be ascertained at the time of filing this report, there are strong indications that it may be linked to a mechanical fault in the solar power station.

Meanwhile, men of the Lagos State Fire Service have reportedly arrived the scene to contain the fire from further spread, bringing succour to the already disturbed residents.
