It’s no longer news that Tayo Sanyaolu, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tertiary Education, Youth and Student Matters, has died.

Sanyaolu, a former Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, met his untimely death in a car accident in the early hours of Friday.

According to a report by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the tragic incident occured around the Army Cantonment located along the Maryland-Ikeja road.

The agency said its officials, upon arrival at the scene, discovered that a black Toyota Camry with registration number LAGH 32 while at top speed rammed into the ATM belonging to the Keystone Bank situated close to the aforementioned location.

LASEMA said the sole occupant of the vehicle (later identified as Sanyaolu) died on the spot, and his remains were immediately bagged upon arrival of the responders.

“The affected vehicle was recovered with the aid of the Agency’s light towing vehicle to a layby,” the report added.
