Photos As Speaker Gbajabiamila Meets With Nigerian Traders In Ghana
The Speaker of the House of Representative, RT Hon Femi Gbajabiamila earlier on Wednesday arrived in Ghana to commence discussion on resolving the trade dispute that has affected Nigerian traders.
The Nigerian Speaker was received at the airport by his Ghanaian counterpart, the Speaker of Parliament of Ghana, Professor Mike Oquaye with whom he said he will be having a legislative diplomatic meeting with in order to arrive at a long lasting resolution to the trade dispute between the two West African countries.
Speaker Gbajabiamila on getting to Accra proceeded to meet with Nigerian traders residing in Ghana where he met with the President of Nigerian Traders Union in Ghana, Mr Chukwuemeka Nnaji. The traders narrated their ordeals and experience in the hands of the Ghanaian government to the Speaker and his team.
The traders disclosed that the Black Star country pegged their registration fee at $1m which is outrageous for all the Traders Union to abide with.
It was gathered that the two-day visit of the Speaker to Ghana was scheduled in order to explore legislative diplomacy towards resolving the issues affecting both countries.
