Philanthropist donates free nose masks to policemen in Seme Division

Youth leader of Kweme Kingdom and Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Seme Border Division, Hon Nathaniel Zofun, on Friday donated nose masks to Police officers of the division necessary to protect the officers against the novel Coronavirus pandemic while discharging their duties.

Hon. Nathaniel, who gave out the items to mark his birthday, noted that the officers are saddled with great responsibilities capable of exposing them to hazards, such as the coronavirus.

Adding that the kind gesture was in view with the Lagos State Government’s mandate for Lagosians to wear nose masks as a compulsory measure to curb the pandemic.

“sensitization is also on going in the community, necessary to create awareness and educate people about COVID-19 and preventive measures stipulated by government.

“am also seizing this opportunity to call on the Inspector General of Police Mr. Mohammed Adam and Lagos state Commissioner of Police Mr. Hakeem Odumosu to urgently see to the over 18 illegal check points along the Badagry Seme express-way which is affecting economy and social life of the people negatively.

“This is a major concern to all of us in the community; the check points are just too much. Unfortunately, our station here doesn’t have any check point. Some of the officers come all the way from zone II, Lagos and other departments of the force.
The IGP and Commissioner should please come to our aid, Badagry has always been a peaceful and serene local government. The checkpoints are not created to protect us rather to extort us”. Hon Zofun said.
