It would be recalled that a leadership crisis had rocked the party, leading to the emergence of two other presidential candidates sponsored by two other factions.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), however, recognised the Julius Abure-led faction which is said to be backing Obi.
In a related development, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, on Thursday, insisted that the body and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) are aware of only one presidential primary which was held in Asaba, Delta State on May 22 and produced Peter Obi as its presidential candidate and standard-bearer.
