Peju Ogunmola Returns to Screen Months After Losing Son

Veteran Nollywood actress, Peju Ogunmola, has expressed deep gratitude to her fans, colleagues, and well wishers for their overwhelming love and support following the death of her son, Ayomikun.

In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page, the actress revealed that the past two months had been filled with sadness but that the show of care and prayers from people around the world helped her through the difficult period.

“To my dearest fans, colleagues, families, and supporters across the world, for about two months that I have lost my child, I have been in sadness, but in my sadness, the whole world made me realize that they stood by me,” Ogunmola said.

“I saw the love, I felt the prayers, I saw the care, and I really appreciate everyone. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say a very big thank you to everyone across the world. I truly appreciate.”

She went on to express her renewed strength and decision to return to her acting career, saying her late son would have wanted her to continue pursuing her passion.

“There is a song that says when we are satisfied God is the most high, and when we are not satisfied God is still the most high. I have accepted my faith. Thank you so much. Today I rise again, not because the pain is no longer there, but because I know Ayomikun will want me to. My passion calls, and it is time for me to return back to the screen where I belong,” she added.

Peju Ogunmola, also sent a message to filmmakers and colleagues, declaring her readiness to resume work. “To all filmmakers, directors, producers, and my industry colleagues out there, I am back stronger and wiser. Let’s make magic again. Let’s work,” she said.

In the caption of her post, she wrote; “A new month, a new dawn, the past months have been heavy but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm. Today I rise stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again. The screen has missed me, and I’m back doing what I love most.”
