Peace In Sight As Ajimobi Meets With Ayefele Over Music House Demolition

What was planned to be a closed door meeting has become public after pictures of the gathering got to the public.

Reports reaching BlackBox Nigeria at this moment confirms that the leadership of Oyo State Government under Governor Isiaka Ajimobi on late Thursday met with the management of Fresh FM led by the Chairman, Yinka Ayefele, a Gospel Music sensation. It was gathered that the meeting was to reconcile the differences between the State Government and the privately owned radio station over the demolition of it’s Music House.

It will be recalled that bulldozers belonging to Oyo State Government created havoc at Music House which houses Fresh FM in Challenge area of Ibadan. The demolition became a hot news item as some members of the public thought the entire building said to worth N800m was destroyed until later updates confirmed it was a section of the building that was not approved by the State that got pulled down.

According to the Publicist of Fresh FM Chairman, David Ajiboye, his boss was contacted by a member of the Governor’s team for a private meeting at the Government House, which they quickly honoured. He disclosed that his team informed Governor Ajimobi that it will like to have a private session with him and he instructed members of press present to excuse them.

Ajiboye however experienced concerns when pictures from the meeting got to the media and pointed to the personal Photographer of Governor Ajimobi as he said he was the only one left in the room with a camera.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that the management of Music House needed to get the required approval as it was unable to provide any for it’s building extensions as the State Government pledged to support the project financially after it gets the approval. Also present at the meeting were traditional rulers, including the Alaafin of Oyo and Olubadan of Ibadan.
