The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured a single councillorship seat out of the 376 positions contested in the just-concluded Lagos State Local Government elections.

The victory was recorded in Ward D of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), where the PDP candidate, Babatunde Dosunmu, defeated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oloye Adeosun.

Dosunmu, a former member of the Lagos APC, reportedly defected to the PDP ahead of the elections and contested under his new party platform.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has not released the full list of winners across all wards as of the time of this report, but party sources confirmed the outcome in Ward D, Yaba LCDA.

With this result, PDP now holds one councillorship seat out of 376 available across 20 local government areas and 37 LCDAs in the state, while APC maintained dominance in the remaining wards.

Further official details on voter turnout and full ward-level results are expected from LASIEC in subsequent updates.
