Party Members from Mushin Call for Expulsion of APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire in Huge Protest

The crisis rocking the Lagos State chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress took a new dimension yesterday as party members from Mushin and Odi-Olowo Local Government turned out en-masse to clamour for the expulsion of Barrister Muiz Banire SAN over allegations of causing disaffection in the party.

In a protest rally from the Party Secretariat in Acme, Ikeja the agitators marched to the Governor’s office in Alausa where they presented a letter to the Governor and Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

The protesters who are loyalists of the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu accused Banire of being a traitor who has betrayed the cause that made him.

Some of the placards displayed by the party members had statements which included “Enough is enough, Banire must go”, “Banire: Custodian of party destruction”, “Banire Hypocrite per excellence”, “Modern day Judas Iscariot” amongst other inscriptions.

The embattled party legal adviser who was the Commissioner for Transport under Tinubu’s administration was also accused of embezzling campaign funds.

Welcoming the protesters, Kehinde Bamgbetan, the Special Adviser to Governor Ambode on Communities and Communications supported their claim while confirming Banire’s high handedness.

“We ourselves have been embarrassed by the infantile vituperations of a career opportunist who has exploited the platform of the Asiwaju movement to get to where he is today. It is our responsibility to support your quest for justice and discipline within the party,” Bamgbetan told the protesters.

He further disclosed that he would ensure the message gets to the appropriate authorities in the state and Abuja.
